The more I learn about Stevens the less I think he was really trying to benefit from his office. I'm kinda surprised that all the Republicans are bailing on him. He was in the Senate for over 40 years and if he was really on the take I doubt he would have needed a contractor to "give" him "$150k" worth of home improvements if he was using his office for personal gain. When guys on Wallstreet are taking down a $100 million a year for "scamming" their way to higher profits and fatter bonuses then I think the Senator Stevens of the world may be the wrong targets to go after.
