There is no "existing pot". People create wealth.

The more you take away from those who create wealth the more your discourage hard work and risk taking in order to create wealth.

Taxing cuts don't redistribute anything they reduce the level or redistribution.

Cutting SPENDING is the key. National Defense is the only real job of Government, per Our Constitution. Read the first paragraph…the Preamble….

Government does not create wealth. It takes wealth from those who pay the taxes.

In my mind, the fairest tax is a flat tax for every single person in the country. Perhaps people under $30, 000 pay zero Fed income tax, and a sliding scale up to $50,000….after that a flat 10-12% Fed income tax on every person in the country….no more. Obviously the higher incomes would automatically pay more tax, but it wouldn’t be confiscatory.

NONE of the Scandavian or most other countries where socialism reigns have any protection for their citizens, and could be just ‘run over’ aka Hitler in WWII. They chose to spend the money instead on social projects. Do they invent new medicines for the world? Do they send ships to make water, clothing and foods, as well as human help to spots on earth that have been hit by monsoons, cyclones, earthquakes, etc? I’m not talking of a few people….but rather substantial numbers of people to help. ?? Do these countries have people like Gates who sends Millions of dollars around the world to help the “underserved” with education, shelter, food, and diseases such as AIDS?

People here in the US, with few exceptions, are poor because of choices they themselves have made. We have Millions of Charitable Groups that we as individuals, work for and sponsor. Most of these are not government subsidized.

We have Federal programs of all sorts started to help give a Hand UP, not to continue forever. We have Scholarships of all sorts for education. We have good education for all children free (aka paid by the taxpayers) if the kids will actually study. Parents are part of the solution, but some are part of the problem. Many don’t teach their kids to be independent, and to study.

THIS LIFE IS THEIR LIFE. It is UP to EACH INDIVIDUAL to make of it what they can!
