What you call smears, I would say are character references. I don't understand why it is considered a smear to check them out. Employers often ask for character references. I think both of these guys have shady backgrounds. I also think this is closer than you think. There is something almost surreal about this election. Maybe it has to do with the differences in how the pollsters are estimating the turnout. I have a friend who is pretty tight in the dem party and he says it is a lock for Obama. I am not very close to any connected Reps, so I don't know what the insiders there are thinking. I don't beleive anything I read in the press about what the insiders are thinking. Little joe
