Condor, I watched a special on Frontline last night that was a real eye opener. They were talking about the 45 million Pashtoon in the rugged mountainous tribal ares of Pakistan. The Pashtoon hate us and love the Taliban and Alqeda No country has ever defeated them. Even Pakistan. It is an impossible situation for our troops or any troops. My guess is that Obama will try to form a coalition to sort of build a wall around part of Afghanistan to protect what they can. But what blows me away is that bush had no idea either of his wars was an impossible task militarily. Forget right or wrong. Woodward said bush kept talking about body counts. Body counts?? For everyone we kill there are 10 to take their place. And we are a great recruiting poster. And we put our troops right in the middle of harms way for nothing. Many unemployed young radical wahhabi muslims in the area go to iraq and Afghanistan just to take pop shots at US tropps. We should have let Europe take the lead as they have a much larger problem with radical Islam than us. Bush will be rembered by history like custor and Pickets charge. He destroyed us financially and militarily. And Iraq nor any of the ME can take us out. China and Russia can take us out. He should have been watching and dealing with them.
