The military mind is a group think problem. The military insists on total conformity, so by the time a person reaches general, the real thinkers, have been either weeded out or indoctinated. I was in ht emilitary and they hated me. I had to go to my congressman. Yet later in life I wrote three initial state plans: emergency medical servies, alcoholism and drug abuse and corrdinated the Valdez oil spill for H and ss. I was also state director of all three. I think I could have been a good military planner, but how would I ever survive to reach that point? It is a catch 22.
