If Palin runs for Senate in 2010, she'd have to run against Lisa Murkowski in the Republican primary and I'm not sure that would work.

I think it makes more sense for Palin to run for Ted's current seat when it comes up again in 2014. Democrat Mark Begich will probably win that seat next week, and Palin would be a likely challenger in 2014 after completing two terms as governor. That was my expected script all along, before she got the notion to aim for the presidency.
