I've seen them as well. The guy that I know who has one is in the phone business with a company that handles all the phone systems for WAL-MART. He thinks its great but he said it depends on the speed and signal quality of your inet access. His point to me was it was all refundable if I didn't like it. I haven't tried it but its an option

Didn't like this one at all:

MagicJack's EULA(Legal Agreement) says it will spy on you and force you into arbitration. Magic Jack has built-in Advertisements which will basically hijack your PC.

Do love the fact that there is heavy competition. It will only drive down prices.
