Steve, I supported the original bailout because I figured it's better to engineer a soft landing than allow the economy to completely crash-n-burn. But with Congress talking about yet another round of "stimulus," I now have to rethink my original support for the bailout. Because that's all these politicians think about. "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help." How about doing the right thing, like fixing up America's fiscal health and not trying to push on a string like Japan did? I feel for people who are threatened with unemployment, but how are we going to create jobs out of thin air unless we use the recession to purge excesses and refocus the economy on more sustainable paths?
