Re: "Has it never occurred to you that private institutions cease to exist if they are not in the final analysis backed by the state ?"

Has it ever occurred to you that the definition of a private institution is one which is NOT backed by the state?

Re: "Or is the Congo an example of your ideal society? Here's a decent article explaining why you are wrong."

"

Nothing in that article addresses the FACT that Private Institutions cease to exist the instant they are backed by public funds through the state, by definition (I can't believe you've even tried to say what you've just said). You'll note that reality is exactly the opposite of what I've quoted you telling me above.

The Congo's government has run the course from Tri-Kingdom Tribal, to French Control and oppression of workers, to Marxist/Communist, to deepening Socialism, to Dictatorship, to an elected President (briefly, in the 90's) to a Marxist Dictator (albeit now, an "elected" "former" Marxist Dictator.

You've presented an article from someone who doesn't believe freedom works. That writer doesn't try, and you cannot, change the fact that neither individual freedom, free markets, nor capitalism have been tenants of the Congo's government to speak of, ever.

The Congo certainly isn't my idea of an ideal society.

Too bad they won't let Freedom Work,

Dan B.
