The prevailing sentiment for many months was that Obama was unelectable since he was loathed by the red base with such venom. Now it seems to be sinking in that he is, in fact, very electable and likely to win. So a group whose views held sway at the highest level for years suddenly has to cope with the notion that their representatives won't wield anything other than minor opposition power for years to come. As I said, most were so welded into the "Vote neocon or you will be killed by terrorists" mentality that this comes as a psychic shock.
