I read Stars and Stripes, unless I could get a copy of The International Herald Review. In truth, most of the places I was stationed, I couldn't get either. Army Times was a magazine for what we called "treads," people with all the stripes on their arms. Now, at various points, I had a lot of stripes, too. But, I was never a tread. I couldn't keep them and I would never re-enlist to try for more. <G>
