Dell recalls 233,000 AC adapters
WASHINGTON, Oct 21 (Reuters) - Dell Computer Corp (DELL) is recalling about 233,000 Taiwanese-made AC adapters supplied with its Latitude LM notebook computers and Latitude LM port replicators, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Tuesday.

Dell has received 11 reports of the connector pins breaking off, posing a risk of shock. No injuries have been reported, the commission said.

The adapters, supplied between June 1996 and October 1997, have bar codes starting 0097689 or 0099500. The only versions of the 0099500 adapters subject to recall are those with A00, A01, A02 or A03 to the far right of the bar code, it added.

To receive a free replacement, owners should contact Dell on 800-715-1483.

Dwight I think you have a very clear perspective of how things are, AND are shaping up. 3Com will do fine! Remember the Avis/Hertz ads? Avis said "We're number two and we try harder"! The worst thing I see happening is E. Benhamou is quoted as saying...I paraphase, " There is no doubt who's in charge...it's me"! So there must be doubt, OR he wouldn't have said it! I myself am hoping for a coup. <GG>

The new products 3Com has recently introduced have in effect caused a SHOTGUN WEDDING between Intel & Cisco.
