Politico has an article that talks about how the prior seasons VP candidates NEVER emerge as noteworthy in the next election no matter how impressive they are, and Palin is NOT impressive.

People get tired of the former ticket and want something new. The prior VP candidate NEVER wins the primary.

Examples are Edwards (the best example since he looked outstanding in 04), Lieberman, Jack Kemp, Bentsen. Forget Qwayle.

The country moves on, and Palin doesn't have enough appeal in the first place.
