There is imho some validity to the question as to whether or not Obama is withholding of the copy of the original certificate. The one on the net is not a copy of the original. The original would be much more detailed with old fashioned typing and numerous details of the parents local addresses and if Obama's father is the Kenyan, since he was not a citizen numerous details on him-----Obama's certificate would show the hospital birth, doctors names, witnesses attesting to the certificate and signatures of the parents. I know this from genealogy work of 30 years. Thus far there has been only one certificate on the net of a person born in 1963 in Hawaii, just 2 years after Obama's birth. That certificate is detailed as I described above. It is only Obama who can request and produce the copy-----not even his wife Michelle can request and produce the copy of the original. Governor Lingle is correct in that the State of Hawaii can only release a copy of the certificate paid for by the person whose birth certificate it is unless the person is deceased. Some think that this is a ploy by Obama and that he will produce a copy of the orginal-----at the last minute. Obama has played with this for about a year now----------and at the last minute of the campaign goes to Hawaii as the article notes to see his Grandmother. Even before the jet fuel has evaporated in the air from his trip, both Hawaii and Kenya have sealed records on Obama. People are right to be skeptical regarding Obama's birth certificate and citizenship. Will Obama produce a copy of the Original Certificate before the close of the polls on November 4th???? Only Obama knows-----and maybe the DNC. jmho mj
