Yes. Obama is unique, but is that bad? but I don't think Americans are going as deep with it Steyn claims.

It may be may or may not be Bush's fault, but it's on his watch that 85% think the country is headed in the wrong direction. That alone makes electing any Republican a long, hard uphill push. That alone makes "hope" a valuable commodity. Hope sells.

Suggesting that Obama's message is two-dimensional implies that McCain's is somehow three-dimensional. Really? McCain, too, advocates "change" - but, as Steyn would say of Obama - change to what?

The past twenty months have given Americans ample time to watch, listen and ponder the merits of two very different candidates. We'll know the decision in 3 days. How and why they decide between the two will be left to historians.
