Sam;

Will her approval ratings in AK hold up if she can't give y'all the same fat check that she gave them this past year and the AK Permanent Fund is quite a bit lower?

And the economy sinks and Stevens is not around to bring in the pork projects .........the pork projects that Palin says "we don't want that pork money - if we want to do these projects Alaska will do them on our own". What senate is going to give a freshman senator pork money when the governor says they don't want the money? Thanks at least partially to Palin, I see lean times in Alaska's future.

Boy would I like to run the opponents ad campaign when/if she goes for reelection.

steve

>>But can she learn enough and be disciplined enough to work a larger, less homogeneous red-meat crowd into a similar enthusiasm?<<

If Palin enters the Republican presidential primary in 2012, she'll face off against boring old white guys and maybe win the nomination. But IMO her Democratic opponent would have to be a total screw-up for her to make any traction in the general election.

She'll face a raft of political/legal/economic issues when she comes back to Alaska, but it's too soon to predict the end of her political career here. She doesn't need an 80% approval rating to win elections.
