I wish it is that simple. We had an older couple who usually sat on their front porch waining all the neighbors passing by. One day they were not there, and then the next day and the next day thereafter. The next door neighbor called their daughter from out of state. It turned out that the husband killed his wife who was suffering from Alzheimer and then shot himself. He could not take care of her anymore, it was too much! There was a construction project at that time and the sound of jack hammer was used to drown out the sound of the gun fired. so that the neighbors never heard a shot. Very tragic.

And McCain wants to give everyone $ 5,000 for health care. Be realistic what $ 5,000 will buy for health needs. Pre-existing condition will push the premium sky high, and $ 5,000 might only cover 3 month worth of premium coverage. What an illogical proposal. Well, if you graduated 5th from the bottom of the class of 899, it is understandable that he does not have the intelligence to tackle even a basic logic.

Unfortunately, many McCain supported will elect President who is just like one of us. They are envious of the bright, well educated, smart, eloquent person, therefore reject Obama and prefer Palin if McCain cannot finish the first term. I want someone who is much smarter than the average people as a leader. I do not want a Joe the Plumber assuming the highest office in the country.

Thanks Torado. The docs could do nothing because of the law. The humane thing would have been to put her to sleep while she slept. One cannot live without intestines.

I was so traumatized by it I had trouble catching my breath at time for a couple of months. And EXACTLY like Forrest Gump I rode my bike about 200 hundred miles a week.

I also entered into magical thinking (willingly) wanting to believe a Raven who would pearch near me was my mother reincarnated.

Natives of Southeast Alaska talk a lot about that interestingly. Make prayers to the Raven. probably just a natural way to deal with grief.

My younger daughter and I were both sort of raised by my mother who was one of those heros Vernon Jordan talks about. One of 12 kids raised in abject poverty by her sister.

Self educated. Read five books a week. Her hero was Elanore Roosevelt. Kindest women who ever lived. She was also poor in old age so I supported her and let her mentor my yonger one as I had to work a lot.

My daughter was 17 at the time. At one point when I was breaking down, she looked at me and said: "Look, I am here for grandma, not you"!!!

17 years old!!
