I'm sure he would have made the same assumption if it were a white guy. Lots of white freeloaders out there, you know.

You're just assuming that any negative assumption made about a black person must be racist. That only reinforces racial stereotypes.

One of these days, we may live in a world where people don't have to say, "How do you know [such and such] about this person? Is because he's [race]?"

Just to clarify my thinking on the matter --

I didn't "assume" she doesn't have a job. My point was, if she can't pay her bills, she ought to do what the rest of us do. Work harder than she is.

The bigger point is that she believes Obama will solve her problems. Hell, YOU believe it. You said he will provide a "backstop". Please explain how, exactly, he will do that?

By giving her more of OUR tax dollars? Or what? How does he help this woman pay her bills?
