The point is that the mainstream media won't do to those families what they just did to Joe the Plumber. If you want proof, look how they rushed to the defense of Graeme Frost when the right-wing media dug up inconsistencies about his family's background.

This is nonsense. How can you keep turning the world upside done to fit your biases? Its amazing.

Did the media ignore Rev. Wright? Bill Ayers? M. Obama's alledged "whitey" comment? Obama's fake birth certificate? All of that and more played out in the media over the past 2 years. The media even found out that Obama goes commando. Every frigging stone was overturned.

McCain made a big deal about joe......so the media scrutinized him thoroughly and he came up wanting. Pure and simple.

That's one reason why I don't think Obama really did "vet" the families he featured on his infomercial. The truth is he doesn't have to.

You're not paying attention, Ten. An Obama campaign would no more put those people on a Obamercial without checking them out thoroughly then they would go out the door with their flies down. The difference between the McCain campaign and Obama's is the diffence between incompetence and competence. Unlike McCain, Obama would not have gone into that debate talking about joe without checking him out. McCain is lazy....he didn't vet Palin and he didn't vet Joe and it sounds like he didn't vet a lot of his campaign.

Apropo:

RUBBING IT IN....

Two Canadian comics pretending to be Nicholas Sarkozy made Sarah Palin look a little foolish yesterday. Hilzoy noted the temptation to "make fun of whomever it is who screens her calls." Apparently, the Obama campaign was thinking along the same lines.

Asked by ABC News if he'd heard the prank call played on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Robert Gibbs, a senior adviser to Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., told reporters that he'd heard parts of it.

His response?

"I'm glad we check out our calls before we hand the phone to Barack Obama," Gibbs said.

Ouch.
