Somewhere we will find exit polling that asks how votes were impacted by all the "associations" accusations - Wright, Rezko, Ayers, the Palestinian guy. We should get a number on how many votes were swayed, or at least where voters rank that as a priority.

Pat Buchanan just summed it up well - McCain made the argument for Obama being an unsafe pick, but never articulated a strategic view why he should be elected instead.

If nothing else, this may stir future candidates to run more FOR something instead of just licking their chops at what they can run against. In my perception that is a clear move away from Rove. If it happens.
