** Attention Cymer Shorts **

This is your last warning...please step away from the vehicle.

...Looks like someone ordered you up one classic "Short Squeeze Special", with all the fixin's. Hope you're hungry enough to eat the whole thing, cause Big Bertha's in the kitchen and I can smell the meat sizz'ling on the grill.

Not hungry, big fella? Stomach kinda turning on you? Well that's life in the fast lane, guy. You reaped the rewards as CYMI went from $48 to $25, but now the easy money is all gone and the market maker doesn't look that friendly any more.

Enjoy your meal, sucker. I know we will enjoy watching you eat it all today and tomorrow, only to throw it up at 4:30 PM tomorrow night as you hear a number over .24

Take care now, come back often.

<<seems to me it's a Nikon problem - not an industry problem>>

This would be consistent with the fact that ASMLF just reported a record backlog, mostly as a function of DUV equip. orders. Also is consistent with the 9/97 press releases re the 3Q order push-out and the chatter about Nikon production difficulties.

Regards to all,

John
