Ed, most of the folks here are quite civil, no matter the color of our skin, religion or not, etc etc. We can only judge each of each other by what we say. And just like 3D, some days for everyone are better than others.

I know that you and I don't agree on several things, but somehow, if all of us tried, I'm sure that there would be somethings we would agree upon.

I have worked on genealogy, mine and helped others research as well. Our ancestors had their lives, and we have ours to live as we will. My interest in the past is "who were they, where did they live, and what did they do during the days they were given here on this speck of the Universe we call Earth...."

To have anyone on either side, say that a vote for or against Obama is 'racist' is repugnant to me and I'm sure to others here. I have read and judged him by his book "Audacity", and by what he has said publicly that is shown within quote marks, plus what my ears have heard. Some of his followers, i.e. Carville, etc saying "blood would run in the streets" or "riots will happen if Obama doesn't win" is totally beyond reason. THAT type of comment is racist to me.

And it has nothing to do with Obama, unless he actively does NOT declare himself distant from such remarks. Sometimes, such omission is commission.

No, it's just that I measure a man by his words and deeds, not his ancestry.

I'm fine with that, c. But which Obama are you measuring, Obama the politician up to 2007, or Obama the candidate since 2007? Because word and deed, the two have no relation to each other.

It's as if Reagan ran as a liberal Rockefeller Republican, and the press backed him up in the story.

Must be another liberal dropping by. Everyone is a racist at the drop of a hat...

I remember years ago being called a racist because I thought bussing was a huge mistake.

I was also called a racist for pointing out the outrageous anti-American speech of Obama's spiritual mentor and close friend Reverend Wright.

This board must be full of "racist". LOL

RE:No, it's just that I measure a man by his words and deeds, not his ancestry.

Obama is pissing all over the concept of measuring someone by their words and deeds. He has zero accomplishments. All his friends hate America and are racists. I hope you are holding him up to your own scale of ethics.
