RE: Conterfit US bills - Evidently the Russian will only accept the very latest design $100 bill, not the earlier designs.

Al Qaeda ? From a cave in Pakistan ?

Supposedly the North Koreans were printing up "Superdollars" years ago, but this is now disputed as misinformation put out by Washington. Who knows.

<<I would love to know the stats on COUNTERFEIT US $ abroad.>>

I can only tell you that no system based upon the fractional-reserve banking system that the US has will ever escape the consequences of legally counterfeiting money. The financial system legalizes the counterfeiting of money by giving the bank the right to loan out your deposits several times and issue what are essentially counterfeit warehouse receipts for your money to many different borrowers. The only protection the depositor has to stop this behavior is to demand her money be presented to her and moving it to a different bank. If consumers got together and did this en masse, this abuse of the banking privilege would stop. In fact, that's exactly what a bank run does - and it generally shuts down the insolvent institutions in short order.
