And you still haven't come up with a rational explanation of how the Democrats, as a minority party, was able to screw things up so bad.

Or how, if the Reps were so exceptional, they find themselves in this position.

The "somehow" is quite obvious. They threw a party and looted the country. They were so busy shepherding the dollars into their and their buddies pockets, they did little else. We had a president and a Congress that spent more time on vacation than actually doing their jobs.

Last time I checked the Democrats were not a "minority party".

Besides, the mortgage crisis was only the trigger, like with the Panic of 1873, it only kicked off the train wreck. If it hadn't of been for that, there would have been something else.
