Charlie Cook, founder of The Cook Report and a columnist for The National Journal called the race for Obama this morning, and for congressional Democrats who he thinks will take at least 7 Senate and 20 House seats.

"...today it seems very unlikely that the focal point of this election is going to shift away from the economy. And as long as the economy is the focal point, it's difficult to see how this gets any better for Republicans up or down the ballot. It's sobering to think of the magnitude an event would have to have to pull voters minds off the economy..." Cook wrote.

He then declared: "The metrics of this election argue strongly that this campaign is over, it's only the memory of many an election that seemed over but wasn't that is keeping us from closing the book mentally on this one. First, no candidate behind this far in the national polls, this late in the campaign has come back to win. Sure, we have seen come-from-behind victories, but they didn't come back this far this late."

Cook also dismisses the "Bradley Effect" where voters tell pollsters that they'll vote for an African American but then don't: "putting aside the question of whether it ever existed, it hasn't been seen in at least 15 years and the likely surge in turnout among African-American and young people seems sufficient to offset it anyway."

---If that's not enough, ALL seven pundits on "This Week" also called it for Obama this monrning. (R)'s and (D)'s.

Time has run out on McSame - all that's left is the BLAME!

My take?

(R)'s have only to look in the mirror. They are some UGLY, DISAGREEABLE MOFOS. Their politics STINK. Their polices SUCK and DON'T WORK.

They backed the worst president EVER way past his expired date. If they wanted us to think they'd changed, they should have repudiated and impeached the asshole.

It seems that everyone's predication of an Obama win is based on the national polls, which at this point, just don't mean a damned thing. All that matters is the state-by-state.

To win it, McCain would have to win FLA, NC, VA, PA, and OH. The rest of what he needs, he'll easily win.

McCain has all but won it. He's picking his cabinet as I type this post.

FLA, NC, VA, PA, and OH.

I'm confidant he'll carry all of those. Plus maybe IA and IL and NH.

I think McCain's win will be bigger than Bush's over Kerry.
