I may be reading too much into some little signs, but I had the feeling that McCain has been trying to say lately, on SNL and Letterman, that this campaign character is an act. Once he is elected, he knows he will not have a second term. So, he can dump the rabid right at Bob Jones University (I would prefer Tom Jones University) and the true GOP ignorati who believe Obama is a Muslim Terrorist/Christian Wacko/Kenyan Mau-Mau/Affirmative Action nimno, et al, ad infinitum, and go back to the old McCain the Maverick. That would be very disingenuous on his part, but I don't mind my President fooling the stupid to make the country better. Teddy Roosevelt did that, taking campaign contributions from the trusts and then busting them after he was elected. Ronnie Babe even did it, making Patco the first union to back him and then busting them. So, there is precedent.

And it would make me feel better if the loonies were not in his cabinet, ex the VP, of course.
