Hi Neal. I agree with you on McCain. I don't think he would get much through the congress, especially with respect to the economic issues. The "fixes" he's proposed are so contrary to the thinking of the experts that the Democrats rely upon that there isn't much common ground.

I'm not sure you're right that Obama will be severely constrained because of the bad economy, however. Many of the things he wants to do can be grouped under the heading of "stimulus" and the nation is in the mood now to take some risks it wouldn't have been able to take before people's homes, job securities, and retirement values took a huge dive.

And he'll have a congress that is strongly Democratic. That fact, together with his proven ability to explain things clearly and inspire the public to rally behind his ideas will make for an interesting first year in office.

I'm a risk taking personality and I look forward to a year of competent and daring choices. I hope many of them will work. Ed
