Interesting. Only 9% of OVTI shares are held short now. Used to be above 25%. Wonder if that's due to all the so called hedge fund collapses?

84% of OVTI's market cap is net cash now, not bad! But with the reported weakness in handsets I wonder if they are going to begin to burn money soon....

You know anything about SIMO? Similar to OVTI (fabless semis), but 50% gross margins rather than 25%, and 91% of their market cap is net cash. They're exposed to the NAND flash market which I guess is bad in terms of price pressure, but I think their area (NAND controllers) doesn't have the price pressure, so theoretically the higher unit volume on reduced priced NAND chips should help their growth. Any view?

And what (if you know) is a NAND controller? Samsung is one of their customers, is the controlled a separate chip from the NAND memory unit?
