If Obama is elected, I would hope that a year from now you will feel more favorably towards him.

The concept of graduated taxes has been around for generations. Obama didn't make this up and Obama isn't going to triple anyones taxes.

If one wants to, one could claim that the mortgage deduction discriminates against renters, that the child exemptions discriminate against couples without kids, and so on. Having a higher rate for higher income taxpayers is pretty much the same thing. The only question is what should the rates be. Is it fair? Obviously, you don't think so and that should be the subject of discussion. Where and how do we get the money to run the government? With a new president and a new congress, the book is open. If someone has a great idea - other than the kook who's saying no one should pay any taxes - lets hear them.

Personally, I'd like to see the individual income tax abolished and replaced wit a VAT, but it ain't gonna happen.
