I did a little bit of poll watching overseas when I served in Croatia soon after their independence. It is incredibly dull.

I did some here in Jersey a few years back in a hotly, very hotly contested local election for mayor and council members. Each side put a poll watcher in the 6 local polling stations.

Dull is the right word. Though the poll watchers for the other side (I took a 6 hour shift) and I became good friends.
