That is not to deny that McCain has many flaws from a libertarian point of view. Some of these, however, might be restrained by divided government.

The piece was full of statements like this: "That is not to deny that McCain has many flaws from a libertarian point of view. Some of these, however, might be restrained by divided government. " Less than enthusiastic, less than compelling.

FWIW, I'm still sympathetic to the divided government position. I won't be unhappy if McCain pulls it out. I'm still quite attached to my fence. But my reaction to that piece was more along the lines of "damning with faint praise" than "wow, he really nailed that."
