A fetus does not have apparent emotional needs or the need to have an attendant. A child who has left the womb is dependent upon someone who is there to feed, provide shelter, comfort, warmth, hygiene, stimulation, health and medical attention, etc. So at a minimum we can say that a child who has left the womb depends upon you to be there as needed. A fetus does not restrict your coming and going to any comparable degree. The dependencies are much greater and more complex for the child after birth.
