Comparing the US to the European average (all of Europe, all of Western Europe, the EU, NATO members - the US, Canada, and most or all of Turkey, the Euro zone, or any reasonable definition for Europe that I can think of)

GDP per capita is higher (in nominal and in PPP terms), mean income is higher, median income is higher, mean and median personal spending net of debt is higher, unemployment is lower. living space per person is higher, cars per person is higher... I'm also fairly certain that percentage of ownership of most home appliances and is higher.
