I don't think there is any conspiracy here, but there is a significant and measurable distance between Obama's "moderate" rhetoric and his actual record as a politician and "community organizer."

If my mentor for the past 20 years was Pat Robertson, would you believe me if I started talking a "moderate" game all-of-a-sudden?

Wright was his minister; not his mentor. Obama's message has been consistent since he first ran for office. In fact, his stump speeches back then were very similar to the ones he does now.

One thing you manage to overlook is the differences between Wright and Obama. Wright comes from a different era and harbors a great deal of anger. Meanwhile, Obama grew up in a white household and lived a white existence. While he experienced prejudice, it was nothing compared to Wright's experiences.

In other words, Wright and Obama are two very different men.
