Hi Ted,

This post from your old time Belgian buddy. Still interested in politics, I see. I must say the number of radical neoconservatives is decreased dramatically over the years, if I read this thread.

Here in Europe, everybody is hoping for an Obama win, but after the last two elections, we are very prudent. Obama has much support here, and surprisingly, he has support in very different parties. From social democrats to right wing, more business oriented parties.

I think most of this support is because of the complete short circuit Bush had with Europe. At a certain moment, a few years after 9/11, Europe has completely given up on Bush and decided just to wait for the next one. Rumsfeld words about old Europe and his attempt to split our countries has been the trigger in this, I think.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter how we think about it, it's America's election and whoever wins, the problems he will face will be very difficult. So you better elect somebody with a brain, and not a puppy on a spring like the last one.

Greetings,

Bert

After reading that article, I don't think we have anything to worry about when it comes to PA.

I will be happy to agree with you Wednesday morning. Until then...
