Alix and Geo Announce Findings of Recent Geological Reconnaissance on Saskatchewan Coal Property Mon Nov 3, 3:13 PM ca.news.finance.yahoo.com VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 3, 2008) - ALIX RESOURCES CORP. (TSX VENTURE: AIX.V)(FRANKFURT:37N) and GEO MINERALS LTD. (TSX VENTURE: GM.V) (The "Companies") are pleased to provide this update on the recent geological reconnaissance completed by company geologists on the Wapawekka Lake coal outcrops first priority coal dispositions area in Saskatchewan, Northwest of the recent Goldsource Mines Inc (GXS) coal discovery. The geologists located the southwestern most outcrop in the bank of Wapawekka Lake. A coal seam is exposed in the walls of a nearby open pit area, approximately 200 to 300 metres south of the coal outcrop in the banks of the lake. The coal seam exposed in the pit area walls, see pictures, appears continuous and is most likely the outcropping coal seam observed in the banks of the lakeshore. Due to the oxidized state of the coal samples, plans to test the quality will be deferred until un-oxidized coal is obtained by way of drilling. The company has been in the process of prioritizing drill targets and will announce drilling dates in the near future. The area south of Wapawekka Lake and the shores of Wapawekka Lake have been identified by Pearson in 1961, and reported by Pearson in "Silica Sand and Coal Occurrences on Wapawekka Lake" as being of Cretaceous age. Within this report Pearson states "The coal outcrops at Wapawekka lake...may indicate the northern edge of a coal field lying to the south, southwest and west of Wapawekka Lake." Subsequent to this report, Anglo American drilled an exploratory hole outside of the acquisition area in 1969, 18 miles due south of the Wapawekka Lake outcrops that intercepted 80 feet of coal at a depth of 627 feet, reported in assessment report 73I0001.
