If you don't know what the Fairness Doctrine is, you don't know enough about this election to be voting in it.

The fairness doctrine was a requirement by the FCC that was eliminated under Reagan. The idea was that since the airwaves were a public good and the broadcasters were given a grant to use, then they had to provide balance when presenting political stuff. This is a risk to hate radio. Because any station that broadcast, say Limbaugh, they'd have to give equal time to someone with contrary views.
