Then let's hope that second debate wasn't an omen.

Even with 61 Dems in the Senate (I'm not sure how far Lieberman can/will be trusted to vote with them), my thought is that Obama would rather seek bipartisan support.
But would Reid want and allow this - I presume he will stay as Senate majority leader?
Or will Obama have any say in tactics, but surely not to the point of over-riding his Senators (not on actual politics but on the manoeuvering)?

I agree it would be sensible and sound longer-term thinking, but I can't necessarily credit the Democrat Senate leadership with this attribute...
