Hard to say. When he was campaigning in Florida, he was talking about seizing part of the profits and sharing them with the citizens of the state. Sounds like he wants to socialize offshore oil drilling like they do in Alaska.

Oil used to be a hot button topic until the financial crisis had the added effect of dropping demand for oil.

Nothing like a recession to "cure" America's "addiction to oil."
