John, I see your point but I think we are looking at a very specific issue with regard to browsers vs say voice recognition or other products.

It seems to me, Microsoft could simply include other browsers as part of a initial selection criteria when you turn the computer on, and the Justice Department would be satisfied. Similiar to how you select it as your default browser now.

All their really doing is removing the icon from the desktop. Not the program? I've never claimed to be a computer whiz, but if you can't figure out how to do that on your own, maybe you should't buy a computer. I serioulsy doubt Microsoft's gain in the browser war has much to do with the icon being on the desktop. It has much more to do with giving the browser and upgrades away free, and being easier to save sites than the Navigator. Netscape made a strategic error bundling Navigator with their communicator package, and Microsoft seized the opportunity.

Now their crying foul.

Michael

Thanks, but I was referring to, if you saw any implications for INTC?

John, Jules, Barry, Paul and all, I believe today we saw the beginning of a unique new industry come public. Intel seeing the potential of this segment has taken a huge stake in one of the leaders.
biz.yahoo.com

I think it would be benificial for us to develope a list of the players in this industry.
This industry is making tremendous profits. Here is some of the numbers I've seen they get paid for developing sites on the net. 1-4 million to build them. 100K-800K per year to maintain them.

I'll start here.
usweb.com
neog.com
zentropy.com

With Internet commerce sure to be a huge business in the future, these companies should continue to grow and prosper. Think about this. Would you fire your web developers if you depended on the income from your web site?

It's tough to find allot of information on this extremely fractured industry. I could use some help.
