The last time I was on the winning side and delighted to be so, at least at the national level, was in 92. My wife and I have been comparing our memories. We trekked into Manhattan on the Sunday before to try, desperately, to find a copy of the Sunday Washington Post with David Broder's detailed, state by state, analysis of voting patterns. Found it. Then, because I had to commute to central PA during the week, we each drove about and hour and a half to a motel in Stroudsberg, PA to watch the returns together. Great night. This one is as special for us.
