I didn't say it was wrong I said its not economics.

Its neither totally right nor totally wrong. In a certain sense its literally true because corporations have to keep track of more details for themselves, and also what they give to the IRS isn't the exact same body of information that they put in their quarterly and annual reports.

But generally while technically true it isn't true in any important way, and when it is the corporate officers risk lawsuits and prosecution, and a number of them have been convicted and sent to prison.
