I think the Iowa speech was definitely more rousing than tonites speech, which besides thanking everyone, struck me as being primarily about managing expectations and an appeal to those who did note vote for him. As BB just said he didn't let the speech overshadow or outshine the personal and public achievement this evening. I liked that very much, thought it was honorable and well considered. He seems to comprehend his rhetorical capabilities, how to set the tempo and tone. Sensed that he was pacing us, tamping expectations, keeping it real ahead of what might be a much more "uplifting" inauguration speech. Whatever, enough of my rambling. The man knows how to lay down a beat and that's that. And so with that it's lights out for me. Great day. Thank you America.
