Any successful person needs the right combination of preparation, diligence, and circumstances. The circumstances were just right for Obama, and the media is no small part of those circumstances. Much better. Also "any successful person" has to overcome a lot of obstacles, and Obama had more than his share, including the Republican smear machine and a certain percent of latent racism. This election was not a walk in the park for Obama from day one. But I'll give you credit you we're calling it way before I had any confidence in the outcome.
