I think some of Michael Moore's trash is slanderous and "treasonous," not to mention some of the stuff sold in Hollywood and Ventura Beach here. And I don't have to criss-cross the country to see that. It's true what they say: All politics are local. That in itself should render the "Fairness Doctrine" invalid. Of course, we all know it will only be applied by its advocates to AM talk radio. Selective nonsense. Tenchusatsu

Al, I have mixed feelings about this topic...I have criss crossed the eastern US in a car for the last several days...it is incredible what they say on AM radio...ranging from slander to treason The treason must have been on NPR or Air America. Just about all of the conservatives I ever hear on the radio are very patriotic. My only consolation and hope is that a majority of americans have tired of this divisive, destructive trash... When media is 10:1 liberal, and there is an assault on the "1", in what other way can it be seen than censorship, silencing of criticism? Liberals have a record in this area. Ted Kennedy tried to shut down a newspaper in Boston that has been a critic of his, by slipping in a clause, into a huge budget bill (in the middle of the night) that resulted in shutting down a newspaper critical of him in his home town. The only newspaper also affected by this selective rule was another right of center paper. As far as "divisive and destructive trash", how is it that the opinion contrary to yours gets that label, and the cast sea of divisive and destructive trash from the left gets a pass? Some want to go further and silence this speech. When I hear this from a person, I see a potential brownshirt... Joe
