The stage was set by Clinton's election in '92, where he won on the basis of lies and misrepresentations.

At this point, my view is we see what Obama does. If he chooses to pursue an extremist agenda in the first two years, I'll simply hope his power base is voted out in two years before the roots take hold.

If his agenda proves to be more moderate, I think he gets a chance. But this seems highly unlikely to me given his extremist roots.

I do believe the transition will be the best in history. The Bush administration understands better than any former administration how important it is to have a seamless transition of power such that our enemies cannot take advantage of the situation.

As a person who has a vested personal interest in what's going on in Iraq and Afghanistan, I'll hope that he doesn't do any of the really stupid things he has suggested wrt to the wars.
