I agree that McCain's staff encouraged the low road campaign. But the responsibility for the campaign (including the choice of Palin) rests with the candidate. I always respected McCain, but lost most of that respect during this campaign. He will have to earn back that respect from the American people with his future actions in working with the new president to solve the mess that our country is in. IMO, his concession speech last night was a good first step.

but I will view him as a honorable individual

I don't view McCain as an honorable man. Is it honorable to leave his paralized wife who faithfully waited for his return from Hanoi, and committed adultery with a much younger blonde? Is it honorable to joke about Chelsey by saying that Janet Reno is her father? Is it honorable to call his blonde wife cxnt? Is it honorable to accuse Obama willing to sacrifice the country to win the election? Is it honorable to refuse to acknowledge that he was saved by local Vietnamese when he crashed his plane? Is it honorable to be a liar just to advance his objective to the the POTUS? No, McCain is not an honorable man.

I don't have any respect for McCain. Hopefully good riddance 2010!
