Put simply, if Obama can fulfill his goal of making government work for the American people, a far right campaign to run against him and Washington is pretty much doomed to stay out on the electoral fringes.

With all our current problems, the electorate wants an administration that will deliver, and should reward one that does. Success will breed an environment where cultural pot shots from the edges just won't matter.

<<<Sometimes it's a slow process but reality is a powerful river whose waters will always crest the highest dam.>>>

I was just watching a Chinese english language state owned TV (CCTV) coverage of our election. The moderator was asking three Americans - a professor from Johns Hopkins, some one from the Brookings Institute, and a third American Professor teaching in China some tough questions - something about Obama's thin resume, how was he going to keep his promise on ending the war, and how was he going to provide tax cuts in this economic environment to those at te bottom of the economic ladder.

The Americans really gave the Chinese a civics lesson. They talked about how blacks were granted civil rights only 60 years ago and how we could throw the rascals out of government when they screw up. Now we have elected a black person to be President.

I cried watching this program. It made me really proud to be an American.

The election of Barack Obama is really transformational. It is really going to resonate around the world.
