IRS scapegoat -- Taxpayer Relief Act

The chief information officer for the Internal Revenue Service last week said thetax-collection agency's schedule to make its computers Year 2000-compliant will be disrupted by the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997.

So, the annual "unplanned" update of the tax code is interfering with the otherwise well planned IRS Y2K effort?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

How many representatives are gonna believe that one?
