america may be center right but the platform is moving left. Whats center right today was liberal just a few years ago and downright radical 50 years ago. Ya think any of those SDS guys from the 60s really believe in womens and gay rights? I doubt it. They werent much different from the frat boys back then. Women were viewed as property to some extent and liberals could gay bash with the best of them. Nasty facts but proves the point that the continental shelf is what has moved. By the way liberals were more tolerant than jocks and frat boys. I was just making a point and i think gals from my gen will back me up as well as gays.

I thnk one of the very good things Obama will do, is provide a role model for the country, like JFK, Bobby Kennedy and MLK did. Even my conservative friends this morning are singing Obama's praises. Good beginning. The monsters have been dispatched, and now the world can see what a strong compassionate leader can inspire. And I expect us to move center left like most of the rest of the civilized world. Like universal health care and addressing environmetnal issues and our gluttony After 9/11 bush actually told people to go out and shop!
